Us British people stereotypically like to keep quiet if things go wrong - but this isn't the right thing to do.
Complaining to brands should be more common, as we all are protected under to consumer rights act to get what we pay for.
Complaining can result in free items, a total refund or even compensation - so it could pay off in spades.
